The Bûche de Noël, or Yule log as we know it, is one of the oldest French Christmas traditions. It dates back to Celtic times before Christmas in France was celebrated. Today it is a staple dessert served at le Réveillon, the French Christmas feast. Students in Madame Behrens’s 8th
grade French classes created various scenes with their own mini bûches de Noël. Students were very creative in their designs which ranged from Harry Potter’s village to the Polar Express to Christmas in July. Fun was had by all!
