Hello and welcome!
My name is Alyssa Orlowski and I proudly teach 6th grade Language Arts. Prior to teaching, I worked with children with autism in their homes as a Behavioral Therapist. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a Bachelor of Science in Education (grades 1-8) and an emphasis in English Writing Education. I was fortunate enough to be placed at Whitewater Middle School for my Student Teaching experience with Carey Fero. Following that amazing journey, I applied for a Long Term Sub position here at the middle school teaching 6th grade Math and Science. That experience led me to my own classroom teaching 6th grade Language Arts in 2016. I am grateful to be a part of the 6th grade team every day and I absolutely love teaching kids to enjoy reading and writing!
Attending college in Whitewater, I already knew I loved this town. Having the opportunity to teach here has been nothing but fantastic. I am so grateful to be a part of the Whippet family! The supportive staff and community have made me feel extremely welcome since day one. My goal is to help my students develop a passion for reading and writing as well as encourage them to be the kindest, most successful version of themselves.
