Robotics Club Showcased at Shedd Aquarium
The Whitewater Middle School robotics club delved deep into the world of engineering and science to successfully design and build a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) capable of exploring an aquatic environment. On March 25th, their hard work paid off as they traveled to an event in Chicago hosted by the Shedd Aquarium to showcase their underwater robot. In addition to driving their own ROV, students had the opportunity to drive a professional, research ROV from UW-Milwaukee's Freshwater Sciences Department, fly an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), and take part in an engineering design challenge. The event was a fun, learning opportunity and students gained valuable experience which they are looking forward to applying to next year's robot! WMS robotics club members include Ian Killoran, Bailee Korf, Jonathan Klauer, Shane Kinson, Aldo Rodriguez, Emma Weigel, and Cole Schlichter.
