I appreciate the sense of community I find here in the Whitewater School district. At the middle school the academic and related arts teams of teachers work together to know their students and to provide them with a wide variety of learning and enrichment opportunities. For me, our middle school is a dynamic and energetic place to work.
It is hard to believe this is my 16th year as the school counselor here at WMS. Prior to working in Whitewater, I had been a school counselor in the Mukwonago and Kettle Moraine school districts. I'm a native of Duluth, MN and a graduate of Indiana University and California State University at Fullerton. As the school counselor, I make it a priority to meet each sixth grade student so that I will know them throughout their middle school years. Knowing students by name is one way to help to build a positive school community.
In addition to my counseling duties, I oversee our school's morning advisory period and I advise the Junior Optimist Club. Both those activities enhance our school's mission to provide students opportunities to explore their strengths, talents, and abilities and to further develop a positive school climate.
